E3 2010- Sony Presentation

As I sit here on my rather comfortable leather couch in front of this HD television, I cannot help but feel rather disappointed in Sony. Alright, so I totally gasped as the unveiled a new Twisted Metal game, because I absolutely LOVE those games. They got my hopes up with nothing more just the TRAILER for Final Fantasy XIV. Their presentation was rather, well, boring. Of course, this means I will not have as much to write on them.

I was disappointed to find that most of their presentation was about the PSP and the Playstation network. You would think that they would have concentrated more on the PS3, since it is- in truth- their newest platform console system. I have yet to purchase much less play on the Playstation 3, but the Playstation 2 is one of my favorite consoles of all time. Microsoft's Xbox 360 kind of has me hooked with their Halo series, as well as a large number of other reasons- Call of Duty, etc... The new Assassin's Creed looks promising, then again they all do. I must admit, I cannot wait for Deadspace 2. It was about the most kick-ass game they showed.

The presentation I was so amped for was basically a complete let down.... Thus far, the award goes to Nintendo.

I will be a little late on things that happen tomorrow, for I will be at work for literally the entire duration of the day... and do not have DVR, so I'll come up with something this weekend.

E3 2010- Nintendo Presentation

Of course anyone who plays video games and has at least a computer would be watching the E3 convention right now, right? Well of course. It is only one of the BIGGEST, BEST things for gamers on the face of this planet aside from the Tokyo Game Show. The Nintendo presentation just ended, with their unveiling of the newest DS edition- the 3DS. I must say, they are definitely going to be making a lot of money as soon as that system comes out, even though I will not be purchasing one myself. I have nothing against their DS series, and definitely nothing against Nintendo (because, if I must say so myself, they have come up with some of the best video games franchises EVER)... I just prefer my XBOX 360, my computer, and even my significant other's Wii over hand-held systems. I did rock my ice purple Gameboy color back in the day, though!

They unveiled some wonderful, and very loved names along with upcoming games for those names. There was Donkey Kong, Mario, and even Mickey Mouse. I do believe the two that have me most excited (and have basically compelled me to save up for a Wii this summer) is Kirby: Epic Yarn and Golden Eye: 007. I remembered when I was younger and would go over to anyone of my friends' houses that had a Nintendo 64, we would ALWAYS be caught playing Golden Eye: 007. I nearly squealed like a little girl when I heard the CEO of Nintendo talking about the famous first-person shooter. The graphics, of course, look purely amazing... but I know it will not be any different than the original- other the controls and the addition of new mini games. As far as Kirby is concerned.... who could NOT love Kirby?! (:

Another Zelda game was announced. As those games are loved and adored as well, I have actually never wandered into the Zelda world vastly... but I do think this game is going to have me journeying there, as well as pushing me to seek out the old games for my Super Nintendo, origial Nintendo, and anything else I could get my hands out.

So now, I sit and wait for Sony to start presenting. Let us hope there is a preview for Final Fantasy XIV, even though I have certainly NOT finished XIII yet. Bring it on, Sony! It is sad I have to wait an entire day for Microsoft, but hey.... Nintendo totally just set the precedent for epic win so far.
